What it does
AMC Ahmedabad served notices to 385 PGs in September 2025 and sealed about 99 in February 2026 for missing No-Objection Certificates; from 9 September 2026 it runs city-wide structural-safety checks. The four NOCs are Society, Fire, Police and BU (Building Usage). Each expires on its own schedule.
PG Saathi tracks six documents: the four NOCs, AMC Estate approval and the structural-safety certificate (needed once the building is 15 years old, CGDCR Schedule 17) — seven if you serve meals, with FSSAI registration. Upload a PDF or photo once, set the expiry date, and the bot reminds you 60, 30, 15 and 7 days before it runs out. PG Saathi does not apply for or renew anything on your behalf.
A daily check also flags a stay that ended before 90 days. The GST exemption for this kind of accommodation (Notification No. 04/2024-Central Tax (Rate), entry 12A) covers up to ₹20,000 per person per month for a continuous stay of at least 90 days, so GST may apply to a shorter stay. Rent above ₹20,000 per person per month and contracts shorter than 90 days cannot be entered at all. Whether the exemption applies to you is for you and your tax adviser to decide.

Why it matters
AMC inspections are unannounced. A lapsed NOC can be the difference between a routine visit and a sealed building. A reminder 60 days out gives you time to renew without rushing.

The four AMC NOCs
Society NOC
Cooperative Housing Society / Resident Welfare Association
Issued by your building's society or RWA committee. Confirms the society has no objection to the unit being used as paying-guest accommodation. If the society refuses, `noc refused society <date>` records the AMC hearing date.
Fire NOC
Ahmedabad Fire & Emergency Services (Gujarat Fire Prevention & Life Safety Measures Act, 2013)
Issued after an inspection of the building's fire-safety installations (extinguishers, hose reels, signage, exit lighting). Upload the certificate and its expiry date; PG Saathi reminds you before it lapses.
Police verification
Ahmedabad City Police — local police station
Tenant verification with the local police is the owner's own filing. PG Saathi prints the tenant verification form and the police register for free; you hand them over. Upload the police document you hold to track its date.
BU Permission
Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation — Building Usage / Use Permission
Granted by AMC when construction matches the sanctioned plan. Without BU, the building cannot legally be occupied — including as a PG.
